Utorrent downloading skip files

In some previous reports it has been dismissed as something todo with "Cross-file pieces" which I find inconsistent with my experience. The torrent started to download immediately, however, it download only files from the first lecture marked to skip.

Maybe this can bypass the bug I will try this next time I encounter this problem. Also FYI I am using 3. I have had this problem too..

Quite annoying I use a private tracker, and utorrent seems to be download parts of files marked skip. This is really annoying is this a bug? I have scoured the forums and not found reference to this issue.

Edit, I just noticed that the skipped files utorrent downloads, are half the file before, and half a file after a block of files marked for download.

Example: say a block of files marked for download start with piece , and end with piece , utorrent downloads half of pieces , and respectively. There's a bunch of threads on this, and it's not a bug. In your example pieces and would be shared across the files. The data that belongs to the skipped files gets put into the partfile. This isn't a bug and you'll see this behavior in ANY client you use that supports selective downloading.

Keep in mind that selectively not downloading files forces other users to get pieces of those files elsewhere. There were no chunks left over. And yes, I understand it DID download them, as it would have to, but it didn't leave any temp files or any pieces for the user to see.
